World War I & Anzac Day Historical Tour
Tour France, Belgium and Turkey visiting the battlefields of the Western Front. The Great War, the "war to end all wars" experienced terrible losses and cast a shadow over future generations.
You may choose any dates to travel on this tour.
Day 1
Arrive in Paris, France. Check into your Hotel and explore your surroundings
Day 2
Breakfast at your accommodation. A mystery tour of Paris
Day 3
Breakfast at your accommodation. Sightseeing of Paris including a visit to the Louvre or Palace Versailles
In the evening, enjoy the Illuminations Cruise on the River Seine or Moulin Rouge night show
Day 4
Breakfast at your accommodation. Travel from Paris to Ypres in Belguim. Visit the Peronne Museum to Flanders and the Battle Fields of Messine and Passendale and the Salient town of Ypres. A visit to the Cloth Hall Museum before checking into your accommodation – “in the Flanders Fields where poppies grow”
Dinner at your accommodation
Day 5
Breakfast at your accommodation. Visit Hill 60, Tyne Cot and surrounding memorials/battlefields
In the evening, attend the Menin Gate Ceremony and the laying of the wreath
Day 6
Breakfast at your accommodation. Travel from Ypres to The Somme, France. Visit the battlefields of Fromelles and the Australian Monument to the 5th Division, battlefields of the Somme, Pozieres Windmill, Hamel and Amiens
Day 7
Breakfast at your accommodation. We join fellow countrymen and remember those who sacrificed for our freedom and whom ventured from one end of the earth to the battlefields of Egypt, Turkey, France and Belgium in the ANZAC service at Villier Bretoneux and the Australian Memorial
Day 8
Breakfast at your accommodation. Travel to Istanbul, Turkey
Remainder of day at your own leisure
Day 9
Breakfast at your accommodation.
Enjoy a morning sights tour of Istanbul followed by the Bospherous Cruise
Day 10
Breakfast at your accommodation. Travel to Gallipoli and camp under the stars overlooking the Aegean sea as we await for the Dawn Service – including Lone Pine and Chunuk Bair
Day 11
ANZAC Day at Gallipoli
Return to Istanbul in the evening
Day 12
Transfer to the airport and depart for home
